Perinatal & Early Motherhood
Counselling for Women in Pregnancy, Postpartum, & the Early Seasons of Motherhood
Motherhood can be both tender and overwhelming — a time filled with love, exhaustion, and profound change. Between sleepless nights, shifting identities, and the invisible load of caring for others, it’s easy to lose sight of yourself.
Whether you’re preparing for birth, newly postpartum, or years into parenting, therapy offers a calm, supportive space to make sense of what feels heavy and reconnect with your own needs. You don’t have to love every moment to be a good parent, and you don’t have to navigate it all alone.
When Things Don’t Go As Planned
Sometimes the journey toward parenthood involves loss, fertility struggles, or experiences that others find hard to understand. I offer support for pregnancy or infant loss, birth trauma, and the emotional weight of fertility treatments — providing a space where grief, anger, love, and hope can coexist without judgment.
Together, we can gently process what has happened, reconnect with your body and emotions, and find a way forward that honours your experience and your resilience.
Supporting Partnerships in Transition
While my work primarily supports women, I also help couples navigate the emotional and relational shifts that come with early parenthood. The transition to life with a baby — or the longing for one — can challenge even strong relationships.
Drawing from the Bringing Baby Home principles developed by the Gottman Institute, I help parents and partners strengthen their connection, communicate with empathy, and stay grounded in teamwork during this season of change.
My Approach
My work is grounded in Compassion, Clarity, and Collaboration — offering both emotional validation and practical tools for daily life.
Compassion allows space for all the mixed feelings — love, loss, guilt, and longing — without judgment or pressure.
Clarity helps you make sense of the overwhelm and tune into what truly matters right now.
Collaboration means we’ll find small, sustainable ways to help you feel calmer, more supported, and more like yourself again.
Through this process, you’ll begin to rebuild self-trust, confidence, and connection — both within yourself and in your relationships.
What to Expect
Sessions are a mix of gentle reflection and realistic problem-solving. You’ll have space to name what’s hard, understand your stress patterns, and leave with one small, doable next step that fits your real life.
Therapy during this season isn’t about perfection — it’s about feeling steadier, more supported, and more at home in yourself.
